DM Tannate-Guaifenesin Oral Uses
This combination medication is used to treat a cough
associated with the common cold, allergies and other respiratory illnesses.
Guaifenesin is an expectorant that helps to loosen mucus while dextromethorphan
is a cough suppressant.

years unless specifically directed by the doctor. To decrease the risk for
serious side effects, carefully follow all of the doctor's dosage directions.
Do not give other cough and cold medication that might contain the same or
similar ingredients (see also Drug Interactions section). Ask your doctor or
pharmacist about other ways to relieve cough and cold symptoms (e.g., saline
nose drops/spray, using a humidifier or infant nasal suction
bulb).
How To Use DM Tannate-Guaifenesin Oral
Shake the bottle well before each dose. Measure out the
prescribed dose carefully using a measuring device. Take this medication by
mouth every 12 hours or as directed by your doctor. If stomach upset occurs,
take with food. Be sure to follow the instructions closely.
Drink plenty of fluids, especially water, while taking
this medication. Fluids will help to break up mucus and clear
congestion.
Improper use of this medication (abuse) may result in
serious harm (e.g., brain damage, seizure, death). Do not increase your dose,
take it more frequently, or use it for a longer time than
directed.
