Brevibloc IV
Generic Name: ESMOLOL HYDROCHLORIDE - INJECTIONPronounced: (ESS-mow-lall)
Brevibloc IV Uses
This medication is used to control the speed of certain abnormal/fast heartbeats (supraventricular tachycardias such as atrial fibrillation/flutter, sinus tachycardia). Esmolol may also be used during or after surgery for a very fast heartbeat or high blood pressure. Controlling an abnormal heartbeat will make you more comfortable and prevent complications. Esmolol belongs to a class of drugs known as short-acting beta blockers. It works by controlling the electrical system of the heart, thereby slowing a fast heartbeat and lowering blood pressure.
How To Use Brevibloc IV

This medication should be used only for a short time until other medications can be given by mouth or your condition improves.
Tell your doctor immediately if your condition persists or worsens.
