Haloperidol injection is used to treat severe symptoms of
certain mental/mood disorders (e.g., schizophrenia, schizoaffective
disorders). It is given by injection when quick relief of your
symptoms is required and you are unable to take the medication by
mouth.
This medicine helps you to think more clearly, feel less
nervous, and take part in everyday life. It can also help prevent
suicide in people who are likely to harm themselves. It also
reduces aggression and the desire to hurt others. It can decrease
hallucinations and negative thoughts.
Haloperidol can also be used to treat uncontrolled movements and
outbursts of words/sounds related to Tourette's disorder.
Haloperidol is a psychiatric medication (antipsychotic-type)
that works by helping to restore the balance of certain natural
substances in the brain (neurotransmitters).
How To Use Haloperidol Lactate Inj
This medication is usually given by injection into a muscle by a
healthcare professional. Your dose may be repeated as necessary to
keep your symptoms under control. Dosage is based on your condition
and response to therapy.
This medication may also be given by injection into a vein.
Follow all instructions for proper mixing and dilution with the
correct IV fluids. If this drug is given by injection into a vein,
your healthcare professional should monitor you closely (see also

Before injecting each dose, clean the injection site with
rubbing alcohol. Before using, check this medication visually for
particles. If any are present, do not use the liquid.
This medication is intended for the short-term control of your

your doctor may switch you to another form of haloperidol or to a
different medication. The switch will usually occur within 12-24
hours from your last injection with this form of haloperidol.
