DDAVP Oral

Generic Name: DESMOPRESSIN - ORAL
Pronounced: (dess-mow-PRESS-in)

DDAVP Oral Uses

This medication is used to reduce urination in certain cases (e.g., diabetes insipidus, surgery). It is also used to control bed-wetting. It is a man-made form of a certain natural hormone made by the body (vasopressin). It works by making your kidneys concentrate your urine, so you produce less of it.

How To Use DDAVP Oral

Take this medication by mouth with or without food, usually 1 to 3 times daily or as directed by your doctor.

Do not use it more frequently than prescribed without your doctor's approval.

Limit drinking of water or other fluids from 1 hour before to 8 hours after taking this medication. Consult your doctor for details.

Dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment.

Use this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, use it at the same time(s) each day.

Tell your doctor if your condition persists or worsens. After taking desmopressin for 6 months or more, some patients may notice that the medicine does not work as well or last as long. Consult your doctor if this medication stops working well.
