Before the prescribed dose is given, a smaller test dose of this drug may be given to check for possible side effects or allergic reactions. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more information.

This medication is given by injection slowly into a vein or into your dialysis line. Follow the manufacturer's directions for injection since giving this medication too quickly may increase the risk of side effects (e.g., low blood pressure).
