Diarrhea Relief Oral Uses

This medication is used to treat heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach, nausea, and diarrhea. It is also used to help prevent travelers' diarrhea. It is also used with other medication to treat stomach ulcers caused by a certain bacteria (Helicobacter pylori). Bismuth subsalicylate belongs to a class of drugs known as cytoprotectants (body cell protectors). It works by protecting the stomach lining.



How To Use Diarrhea Relief Oral

Take this medication by mouth, usually up to 4 times daily or as directed by the product packaging. If this medication has been prescribed by your doctor, take it exactly as directed.

If you are taking chewable tablets, chew them completely before swallowing. If you are taking tablets or caplets, swallow them whole. If you are taking liquid, shake well before using and measure the correct dose with the supplied medicine-measuring cup. Do not use a household spoon.

Dosage is based on your age, medical condition, and response to treatment.

If your doctor has directed you to use this medication daily, use it regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same time(s) each day.

Tell your doctor if your condition persists or worsens. If you are taking this medication for diarrhea, tell your doctor if your diarrhea lasts more than 2 days.
