Nubain Inj Uses
This medication is used to treat moderate to severe pain. It is also used with other types of medication before and during surgery, labor/delivery, or other procedures. Nalbuphine is a narcotic pain reliever similar to morphine. It acts on certain centers in the brain to give you pain relief.
Nalbuphine may block the effects of other narcotics and cause withdrawal symptoms in people dependent on narcotics. If possible, people who have recently used narcotics in high doses or for a long time should not use nalbuphine. (See also Side Effects section.)
How To Use Nubain Inj
Inject this medication into a vein, into a muscle, or under the skin as directed by your doctor. Follow all the manufacturer's instructions for properly mixing and giving this drug. Ask the pharmacist before mixing with other medications in the same injection. If you have any questions about the use of this medication, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Before using this product, check it visually for particles or discoloration. If either is present, do not use the liquid.
Clean the injection site properly before use. If this medication is injected into a muscle or under the skin, change the location of the injection site each time to avoid developing problem areas under the skin.
This medication is usually used every 3 to 6 hours as needed, or as directed by your doctor. The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Pain medications work best if they are used as the first signs of pain occur. If you wait until the pain has worsened, the medication may not work as well.
If nausea occurs, consult your doctor or pharmacist for ways to decrease it (e.g., antihistamines, lying down with as little head movement as possible).
This medication may cause dependence, especially if it has been used regularly for a long time or if it has been used in high doses. In such cases, if you suddenly stop this drug, withdrawal reactions (e.g., restlessness, runny nose, watering eyes, trouble sleeping, severe abdominal/muscle pain, nausea, vomiting, rapid breathing, fast heartbeat) may occur. Report any such reactions to your doctor immediately. When stopping long-term, regular treatment with this drug, gradually reducing the dosage as directed will help prevent withdrawal reactions. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details.
