This product contains the bacteria Bifidobacterium bifidum, which is naturally found in the stomach/intestines. It has been used to help maintain and restore the normal balance of intestinal bacteria when the balance has been upset (e.g., with the use of antibiotics, certain stomach/intestinal conditions). Having a normal balance of intestinal bacteria helps to decrease episodes of diarrhea, protects against undesirable bacteria infecting the gut, and helps with proper food digestion and absorption of vitamins and minerals.
