Daily Multivitamins/Iron Oral Interactions
Your doctor or pharmacist may already be aware of any possible drug interactions and may be monitoring you for them. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription/herbal drugs you may use, especially:
- certain antibiotics (e.g., chloramphenicol, penicillamine, quinolones such as ciprofloxacin/norfloxacin)
- levodopa
- methyldopa
- thyroid replacement drugs (e.g., levothyroxine)
- other vitamin/nutritional supplements
Avoid taking this medication at the same time as antacids or tetracycline antibiotics. Wait at least 2 hours between taking this medication and an antacid or tetracycline.
If your brand of multivitamin also contains folic acid, be sure to tell your doctor or pharmacist if you take certain anti-seizure drugs (e.g., hydantoins such as phenytoin).
