Mag-L Oral Interactions
If you are taking this product under your doctor's direction,
your doctor or pharmacist may already be aware of possible drug
interactions and may be monitoring you for them. Do not start,
stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with
your doctor or pharmacist first.

- sodium polystyrene sulfonate
Magnesium can bind with certain types of antibiotics, preventing
their full absorption. If you are taking a tetracycline-type
medication (e.g., demeclocycline, doxycycline, minocycline,
tetracycline), separate the time of the dose from the time of the
magnesium supplement dose by at least 2 to 3 hours. If you are
taking a quinolone-type antibiotic (e.g., ciprofloxacin,
levofloxacin), ask your doctor or pharmacist about how long you
should wait between antibiotic and magnesium supplement doses. The
timing depends on which quinolone antibiotic you are taking.
Check the labels on all your prescription and
nonprescription/herbal products (e.g., antacids, laxatives,
vitamins) because they may contain magnesium. Ask your pharmacist
about using those products safely.
This document does not contain all possible interactions.
Therefore, before using this product, tell your doctor or
pharmacist of all the products you use. Keep a list of all your
medications with you, and share the list with your doctor and
pharmacist.
