Your doctor or pharmacist may already be aware of any possible drug interactions and may be monitoring you for them. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with your doctor or pharmacist first.

Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription/herbal products you may use, especially of:

  • lithium


Other medications besides desmopressin may also affect the balance of water and sodium in your body. Therefore, tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the products you take, including:

  • narcotic pain relievers (such as morphine)
  • nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, naproxen)
  • psychiatric medicines (such as chlorpromazine)
  • drugs to treat seizures (such as carbamazepine)
  • SSRI antidepressants (such as sertraline)
  • tricyclic antidepressants (such as amitriptyline)
  • "water pills" (diuretics such as furosemide)
