Loprox Top Uses
This medication is used to treat a certain scalp condition (seborrheic dermatitis, a type of dandruff). Ciclopirox is an antifungal drug that works by stopping the growth of fungus.
How To Use Loprox Top
Wet hair. Apply about one teaspoonful (5 milliliters) of ciclopirox medicated shampoo to the affected area and gently rub into the scalp. For long hair, two teaspoonfuls (10 milliliters) may be used. Lather and leave on the hair for 3 minutes. Use a timer to determine when 3 minutes is over. Rinse hair with plenty of water. Avoid getting in the eyes, nose or mouth. If you do, rinse with plenty of water.
Use this medication twice weekly with at least 3 days between each use. Other shampoos may be used on the days you do not use this product. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about which shampoos may be appropriate for you.
Use this medication regularly in order to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, use it on the same two days each week.
Continue to use this medication for the full amount of time prescribed, even if symptoms disappear after a few days.
Inform your doctor if your condition persists or worsens after four weeks of treatment.
