Lexiva Oral Precautions
Before taking fosamprenavir, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it or to amprenavir; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.
Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of:
- heart problems (coronary artery disease, heart attack)
- lipid problems (high cholesterol or triglycerides/fats)
- blood disorders (hemophilia)
- diabetes
- kidney problems (such as kidney stones)
- liver disease
Children may be more sensitive to the side effects of this drug, especially vomiting.
This medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
It is not known whether this drug passes into breast milk. Avoid breast-feeding because breast milk can transmit HIV.
