Zepine Oral Side Effects

Drowsiness, dizziness, stuffy nose, increased saliva, and acid stomach may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication may develop serious side effects, but with frequent visits to your doctor, this risk can be reduced.

Tell your doctor immediately if you develop signs of depression (e.g., persistent blue mood, severe sadness, thoughts of suicide, problems sleeping, loss of appetite). Depression may last for some time after stopping the medication. Your doctor may monitor you for worsening of symptoms until depression improves.

Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur:

  • abdominal pain/cramps
  • nosebleeds
  • diarrhea
  • nausea
  • vomiting
  • fainting
  • chest pain
  • slow heartbeat
  • shortness of breath
  • swelling
  • enlarged breasts
  • unusual breast discharge
  • decreased sexual interest/ability
  • other mental/mood changes (e.g., nervousness, anxiety, slowed thinking, nightmares) uncomfortable urination
  • headache
  • unusual weight gain


Tell your doctor immediately if any of these rare but very serious side effects occur:

  • fast/irregular heartbeat
  • muscle aches
  • hearing loss
  • eye/vision problems (e.g., blurred/decreased vision, red eyes)


A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including:

  • rash
  • itching
  • swelling
  • severe dizziness
  • trouble breathing
