Mycifradin Oral Uses
Neomycin oral solution is used along with a special diet to treat a certain serious brain problem (hepatic encephalopathy). This condition is caused by too much of a certain natural substance (ammonia). Normally, the liver gets rid of ammonia, but liver disease can cause too much ammonia to remain in the body. This medication kills certain normal intestinal bacteria that make ammonia, thereby lowering ammonia levels and decreasing the encephalopathy.
How To Use Mycifradin Oral
Take this medication by mouth, usually 4 times daily or exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Measure out the correct dose using a medication-measuring device. Do not use a household spoon because you may not get the correct dose. This medication is used for the shortest treatment period possible, but it is usually taken for 5-6 days. You may need to use it for longer depending on the seriousness of your liver disease, but do not use for longer than prescribed by your doctor.
Dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment.
Use this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same times each day.
