Drotrecogin alfa (Activated) IV Overdose
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. US residents can call the US National Poison Hotline at 1-800-222-1222. Canada residents can call a provincial poison control center. Symptoms of overdose may include: easy or unusual bleeding/bruising, black/bloody stool, pink/red urine, weakness on one side of the body, confusion.

Laboratory and/or medical tests (e.g., prothrombin time-PT) should be performed periodically to monitor your progress or check for side effects. Consult your doctor for more details.
Drotrecogin alfa (Activated) IV Storage
Store the vials of powder in a refrigerator between 36-46 degrees F (2-8 degrees C) away from light. Do not freeze.
Once mixed, the medication in the vial can be stored at room temperature between 68-77 degrees F (20-25 degrees C) away from heat and direct sunlight and must be used within 3 hours. Throw away any unused medication.
After the mixed medication is diluted with the IV fluid, the product in the infusion bag should be used at room temperature between 68-77 degrees F (20-25 degrees C) within 14 hours (within 12 hours if the product is used in a syringe pump).
Properly discard this product when it is expired or no longer needed. Consult your pharmacist or local waste disposal company for more details about how to safely discard your product.
