Mycophenolate Sodium Oral

Generic Name: MYCOPHENOLATE SODIUM DELAYED-RELEASE TABLET - ORAL
Pronounced: (mye-koe-FEN-oh-late)

Mycophenolate Sodium Oral Uses

Mycophenolate is used in combination with other medications to keep your body from attacking and rejecting your transplanted kidney. It belongs to a class of medications called immunosuppressants. This medication works by lowering your body's immune system activity.

How To Use Mycophenolate Sodium Oral

Take this medication as directed, usually twice daily on an empty stomach, one hour before or two hours after meals.

Swallow whole. Do not crush, chew or break the tablet. The coating of this tablet allows the drug to be absorbed by your intestines. This product cannot be well absorbed by your stomach.

Certain drugs may decrease the amount of mycophenolate that your body absorbs if taken at the same time. Do not take this medication at the same time as antacids (containing aluminum and/or magnesium), cholestyramine, or colestipol. For more details, ask your pharmacist.

Use this medication regularly in order to get the most benefit from it. Remember to use it at the same times each day. Dosage is based on your medical condition and response to therapy.

Take this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not skip any doses. It is very important to continue taking this medication even if you feel well. Do not stop taking mycophenolate without first talking to your doctor.
