Eraxis IV Uses
This medication is used to treat certain fungal infections caused by the Candida fungus (e.g., candidemia, esophageal candidiasis). It works by stopping the growth of fungus.
How To Use Eraxis IV
This medication is given into a vein by a health care professional. Follow all instructions for proper mixing and dilution with the correct IV fluid (5 percent dextrose injection or 0.9 percent sodium chloride injection). Before using this product, check it visually for particles or discoloration. If either is present, do not use the liquid. If you have questions about the use of this medication, consult the pharmacist.
This medication is usually given once daily. Do not give with other medications or minerals. The rate of infusion should not be greater than 1.1 milligrams per minute.
Dosage and length of treatment is based on your medical condition and response to therapy. It is important to continue this medication for the full course of treatment, even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping the medication too early may result in a return of the infection.
