Nujol Oral

Generic Name: MINERAL OIL LAXATIVE - ORAL

Nujol Oral Uses

This medication is used to treat common constipation. Mineral oil belongs to a class of drugs known as lubricant laxatives. It works by making it easier for material to pass through the intestines and by increasing the amount of water in the stool, making it softer and easier to pass.

Mineral oil laxatives should not be used in children younger than 6 years or in bedridden, elderly, or very sick/weak patients.

How To Use Nujol Oral

Take this medication by mouth, usually once daily at bedtime. If your doctor has prescribed this medication, take it exactly as directed. Use a medication-measuring device to accurately measure the correct dose. Do not use a household spoon.

Dosage is based on your age, medical condition, and response to treatment. Check the product label for the correct dose for your age.

Drink plenty of fluids (6 to 8 large glasses) throughout the day while taking this medication unless your doctor has instructed you to limit fluids.

Use this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same time each day. Do not use this laxative for more than 7 days in a row unless directed to do so by your doctor.

Tell your doctor if your constipation persists for more than 7 days or if you are unable to pass a stool after using this product for 3 days. These may be signs of a more serious problem.
