This medication is used to treat and prevent asthma attacks and to relieve cough due to thick mucus in the lungs. This medication is a combination of 2 medications. Potassium iodide helps thin the mucus so you can clear it from your lungs. Ephedrine is a bronchodilator that helps open your airways to make breathing easier.

This medication is used to treat symptoms that occur with colds, allergies, sinus infections, or other breathing illnesses.

How To Use KIE Oral

Take this medication by mouth with a full glass of water (8 ounces or 240 milliliters) unless your doctor directs you otherwise. Do not lie down for 30 minutes after taking this medication. This medication may be taken with meals or a snack to reduce stomach upset.

The dose may be repeated up to 4 times daily as needed to treat symptoms.

Dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. In children, dosage is also based on age. Do not increase your dose or take this drug more often than directed. Your condition will not improve any faster, but the risk of side effects will be increased.
