If you wear contact lenses, remember that Elestat should not be used to treat eye irritation caused by your lenses.
The safety and effectiveness of Elestat have not been studied in children younger than 3 years old.
Possible food and drug interactions when taking Elestat
No interactions with Elestat have been reported.
Special information if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
The effects of Elestat during pregnancy have not been adequately studied. If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, inform your doctor immediately.
It is not known whether Elestat appears in breast milk. If this drug is essential to your health, your doctor may advise you to stop nursing until your treatment is finished.
Recommended dosage
The recommended dosage is one drop in each affected eye twice a day. You should continue using Elestat until you are no longer exposed to the allergic trigger (for example, until the pollen season is over), even if you do not have itchy eyes.
Overdosage
There is no information on Elestat overdose. However, any medication taken in excess can have serious consequences. If you suspect an overdose, seek medical attention immediately.
