Full Liquid Diet

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

If you have had surgery, or you have difficulty chewing or swallowing, your doctor may suggest you eliminate solid food from your diet and take only foods in liquid form or foods that will become liquid at room temperature. You may need to take liquid vitamins or minerals if you are on this diet more than 3 weeks. Do not follow a full liquid diet for weight loss. Use it only if you are having problems eating.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO

Use a blender to purée meat, fish, or poultry. Mix the purée with broth or other liquids to thin it out. You may add a small amount of herbs and spices to foods in this diet.
