Notify your doctor or dentist that you are taking Corzide if you have a medical emergency, or before you have surgery or dental treatment.
Possible food and drug interactions when taking Corzide
Return to topCorzide may intensify the effects of alcohol. Do not drink alcohol while taking this medication.
If Corzide is taken with any other drug, the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. It is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Corzide with the following:
- Amphotericin B
- Antidepressant drugs known as MAO inhibitors, such as phenelzine and tranylcypromine
- Antidiabetic drugs, including insulin and oral drugs such as glyburide
- Antigout drugs such as probenecid
- Barbiturates such as phenobarbital
- Blood thinners such as warfarin
- Calcium salt
- Certain blood pressure drugs such as reserpine
- Cholestyramine
- Colestipol
- Diazoxide
- Digitalis medications such as digoxin
- Lithium
- Methenamine
- Narcotics such as oxycodone
- Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen and naproxen
- Other antihypertensives such as enalapril
- Steroid medications such as prednisone
- Sulfinpyrazone
Special information if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
Return to topThe effects of Corzide during pregnancy have not been adequately studied. If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, inform your doctor immediately. Corzide appears in breast milk and could affect a nursing infant. If this medication is essential to your health, your doctor may advise you to discontinue breastfeeding until your treatment with Corzide is finished.
Recommended dosage for Corzide

Dosages of this drug are always tailored to the individual's needs.
The usual dose is 1 Corzide 40/5 milligram tablet per day or, if necessary, 1 Corzide 80/5 milligram tablet per day. If you have kidney problems, you'll probably need Corzide less frequently. If this medication fails to bring your blood pressure under control, your doctor may gradually add another high blood pressure drug to your regimen.
CHILDREN
The safety and effectiveness of Corzide have not been established in children.
Overdosage
Return to topAny medication taken in excess can have serious consequences. If you suspect an overdose, seek medical attention immediately.

Abdominal irritation, central nervous system depression, coma, extremely slow heartbeat, heart failure, lethargy, low blood pressure, wheezing
