ADULTS


The recommended starting dose for adults and children over 12 is 64 micrograms per day administered as 1 spray in each nostril once a day. The maximum recommended dose is 256 micrograms per day, administered as 4 sprays per nostril once a day.

CHILDREN


The recommended starting dose for children between 6 and 11 years of age is 64 micrograms per day administered as one spray per nostril once a day. The maximum recommended dose for children in this age group is 128 micrograms per day, administered as 2 sprays per nostril once a day. The safety and effectiveness of Rhinocort Aqua in children under 6 have not been established.

Any medication taken in excess can have serious consequences. If you suspect an overdose, seek medical attention immediately.

Symptoms of long-term overdose with Rhinocort Aqua stem from a condition called hypercorticism, when the body produces an excess of its own steroid chemicals.

  • Symptoms of overdose may include:
    Diabetes, easy bruising, fat around the waist and on the upper back, high blood pressure, lowered resistance to infection, menstrual problems, moon face, muscle weakness and wasting, poor healing, thin skin
