Special information if you are pregnant or breastfeeding

Although the effects of these products during pregnancy have not been adequately studied, antihistamines have caused severe reactions in premature and newborn babies when used in the last 3 months of pregnancy. If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, notify your doctor immediately. The drugs may appear in breast milk and could affect a nursing infant. If this medication is essential to your health, your doctor may advise you to discontinue breastfeeding until your treatment is finished.

Recommended dosage

ADULTS AND CHILDREN 12 AND OVER:

The usual dosage is 1 tablet twice a day.

Children under age 12 should not take these products.

Overdosage

Any medication taken in excess can have serious consequences. An overdose of these products can be fatal. If you suspect an overdose, seek medical attention immediately.

• Symptoms of overdose may include:
  Anxiety, bluish color caused by lack of oxygen, blurred vision, chest pain, coma, convulsions, decreased mental alertness, delusions, difficulty sleeping, difficulty urinating, dizziness, excitement, extreme calm (sedation), exaggerated sense of well-being, fluttery heartbeat, giddiness, hallucinations, headache, high blood pressure/low blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, lack of muscle coordination, muscle tenseness, muscle weakness, nausea, perspiration, rapid heartbeat, restlessness, ringing in the ears, temporary interruption of breathing, thirst, tremors, vomiting

• Overdose symptoms more common in children may include:
  Dry mouth, fixed, dilated pupils, flushing, overstimulation, stomach and intestinal problems, very high body temperature
