ZURICH (Reuters) - Chugai Pharmaceutical, a unit of
Roche Holding AG, said on Wednesday that it had filed for an
extension for the group's block-buster drug Avastin.
In a statement, Chugai said the extension was for an additional
indication of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) for the
anti-malignancy agent/ anti-VEGF humanised monoclonal antibody.
Japan has already given a green light for Avastin for the
treatment of unresectable advanced or recurrent colorectal cancer
in April 2007.
Roche is the world's largest maker of cancer drugs.
